Return Eligibility
- Returns must be dispatched (postmarked) within 60 days of purchase.
- Items must be new, unused, and complete.
- All original labels, instructions, and included components must be present.
- Items returned in poor condition, incomplete, or with damage caused after delivery may be subject to a reduction in refund to reflect loss in value, or may be returned to you at your expense.

- Pack the item securely, ideally in the original packaging with protective materials.

Free Returns (Mainland UK)
Free returns are available for eligible mainland UK purchases made on hairpin.com when you use our provided return shipping label(s).
Fair Usage Policy
Free returns are intended to cover the vast majority of orders. Free return labels may not be available for:
- Orders outside mainland UK
- Orders valued under £15 (total)
- Orders over £1000 (total)
- Shipments exceeding 70kg (total)
- More than 3 returns per customer within 30 days
- Clearance sale items (where stated)
Important Notes
- Customers should use original packaging and suitable protective materials wherever possible.
- Return labels must be printed by the customer.
- Insufficient packaging may result in a reduction in refund to reflect loss in value.
- If you arrange your own return, you must use a tracked service and obtain proof of postage. We recommend insured shipping for higher value items.
- Promotional offers (e.g. bundle/threshold discounts) may be recalculated if a return reduces an order below the promotional criteria.
Shipping & Charges
- If your return does not qualify for free returns, return shipping costs are your responsibility.
- Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable (except where required by law).
- Where you arrange return shipping, you are responsible for the item until it is received at our warehouse.
Damaged & Faulty Items

Assembled Items
Returns are not accepted on assembled desks and ready-made items once assembled. Please inspect thoroughly before assembly.
Material Considerations
Raw steel table legs:
- May develop surface rust over time if unpainted or stored/used in humid conditions.
- Should arrive with an appropriate protective coating for transit/storage.
- May require periodic maintenance (cleaning/protecting) if left unfinished.
- Items that have rusted due to storage or use after delivery are not eligible for return as “faulty”.
Outdoor Use
Products suitable for outdoor use include:
- Zinc table legs
- Stainless steel table legs
All other products are not rated for outdoor use unless explicitly stated on the product page.

The product
Description
A birch plywood desk with black hairpin legs, pairing pale natural grain and a layered edge with satin black steel. Choose 120 × 60cm for a compact workspace or 150 × 75cm when you want more room. Both sizes are available as a standard desk or with a shorter matching riser shelf.
The 25mm top is AA-grade Baltic birch plywood, sanded smooth and finished with hard wax oil on all six sides. Its cross-laminated construction stays flat and stable where solid wood of the same thickness can move with the seasons. This gives the desk a clean, skirtless profile with no rail beneath the edge. Both faces are finished. Wood grain varies naturally, so drilling the top yourself lets you choose the side you love most.
The standard desk includes one top, four 71cm 3-rod hairpin legs and assembly fixings. The legs are solid steel with a satin black powder coat. Choose the riser configuration to add a 25mm birch plywood shelf on four matching 10cm 2-rod hairpin supports. The 120 × 60cm desk comes with a 90 × 25cm riser. The 150 × 75cm desk comes with a 120 × 25cm riser.
Your undrilled order includes a free Premium Drilling Kit with the correct paper template for each set of legs, an automatic centre punch and a depth-set countersink drill bit. You need a drill and screwdriver. The tools are yours to keep. Pre-drilling is also available at £15 per top: £15 for the standard desk or £30 for the desk with riser. With this service, the tops arrive with fixing holes ready for assembly with a screwdriver.
