Oak Table Tops
Oak plywood or solid oak
All tops are built with full-stave European oak.
Oak plywood is the modern build. Our founders, Adam and Tom, have oak plywood tops in their own homes. It is oak on a high-end furniture-grade Baltic birch ply core, stiffer and more dimensionally stable than solid oak, and can be mounted directly to legs or a frame without a traditional apron, skirt, or anti-warp bracing. The plywood edges are proudly on show. All faces are silky smooth and finished in hard wax oil.
Solid oak is the classic build: oak through the full thickness, stave-built, and it takes deep refinishing across decades.
For most modern tables we'd point you to oak plywood; for an heirloom piece, solid oak is the one.
Sizes and shapes
Across the two builds, sizes run from a compact 60cm up to 180cm dining tables, in rectangular, square, and round shapes. Every top is undrilled, so your legs sit exactly where your build needs them.
Pairing legs
Oak tops pair with wood or metal legs. We think oak works really well with our tapered oak legs for a warm, tonal look, or with black hairpin legs for a modern contrast. Slimmer legs lean modern; box-section legs give a more industrial feel.
